HexaNext Ltd (“HexaNext”, “we”) builds websites for small businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, who else handles it, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- When you ask for a free demo: your name, and an email address or phone number (or both), plus anything else you choose to give us: your business name, its current website, what would help most, and your message.
- The demos on our home page: nothing. They run in your browser and don’t send anything to us.
- Technical: a spam check on our form, and the basic details every website receives (such as your IP address and browser), kept briefly in our host’s logs. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.
Why we collect it
To reply to you, build and send the demo you asked for, talk to you about a website if you’d like one, and keep the records a business must keep. We collect it from you directly. You don’t have to give us anything, but without a way to contact you we can’t send your demo. We don’t sell your information, and we won’t send you marketing unless you ask for it.
Who else handles it
These services run parts of the site and only get what they need to do their job:
- Cloudflare: hosts the site and runs the spam check.
- Neon: stores the requests you send us, in Sydney, Australia.
- Resend: delivers the email that tells us about your request.
Some of these store information outside New Zealand. We use them because they protect it in ways comparable to the Privacy Act. We’d only share your information with anyone else if the law requires it.
Keeping it safe, and for how long
Your request is stored in our own database, which only we can sign in to. We keep requests for up to [two years] after we last hear from you, and records of paid work for seven years because tax law requires it. Ask, and we’ll delete anything we don’t need to keep sooner.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and to have it corrected. Email hello@hexanext.co.nz and we’ll reply within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act requires. If you’re not happy with how we handle your information, tell us first; you can also complain to the Privacy Commissioner.
Websites we build for clients
When we build and host a site for a client, the information their customers send through it belongs to that client, and their own privacy policy applies. We handle it only to run the site for them.
